Choosing your perfect student house can be a tricky business. Chester Student Lets is here to take the stress out of that process.
Houses for University of Chester students are unique to our beautiful city. From the characteristic Victorian architecture, to the distinct neighbourhoods and wealth of attractions. All of this goes into finding the home that’s right for you. And we want to make sure that whatever property you choose, provides you and your friends everything you need to have a great uni experience!
Why are we different?
So, you’ve looked at a few student letting agencies and they all seem to be the same – then why choose us? Let us explain.
Our tenants are at the centre of our ethos. With a number of graduates in the team, we can relate to how we felt when we were students. We’ve been there, done that, and have more often than not found the best solution. Equally, our team has had over 20 years experience in letting to Chester Uni students. And with that experience comes knowledge.
We don’t claim to know everything, and we will continue to learn and innovate as we go along. Whether you pop in to ask us a question, need some advice about your rent and student loans, or want to know who to contact about a welfare issue, you can trust that our friendly team will be able to point you in the right direction.
What can you expect from a Chester Student Lets home? We pride ourselves on the quality of our houses. All of our CSL managed houses have been set up with students in mind. And we work with our landlords to ensure that their property meets the needs of our students, with many of our houses undergoing a frequent cycle of renovation. Signing up
You don’t need to tell us. Navigating through reams of paper can be a headache.
That’s why we’re striving to simplify our contracts and applications as much as possible, so that you understand exactly what you’re signing up to, and what your rights are as a tenant in the house you choose. One of our friendly staff is always on hand to answer questions, and guide you and your guarantor through the application process. Don’t have a guarantor? Don’t worry. We have several options available, just check out our FAQs or contact us and we’ll be happy to talk you through them.
Although we tend to have a rush of enquiries around November for the following year, we do sometimes have rooms that become available immediately. If you’re looking for something right now, check out our properties page where you can search by academic year and check out what individual rooms are available.
Guarantor info
Have you been asked to guarantor one of our tenants? Or perhaps you’re an applicant looking for some more information about what is required for being a guarantor?
The majority of our tenancies require a guarantor a.k.a. an individual who will pay rent on behalf of a tenant if they are unable to do so themselves.
There are certain criteria that an individual needs to fulfil in order to be accepted by a landlord to be a guarantor; usually this involves being a homeowner.
If you are applying to be a guarantor, you will receive an application and a contract through the post which will need to be completed and returned to our office within 5 working days. This will ensure that the house is taken off the market.
We’re happy to answer any questions that you may have, and it is worth noting that we do have alternative options available if finding a suitable guarantor proves tricky. Just get in touch!

We want to make sure that your trip to Chester Uni is full of new adventures and excitement. You can trust with Chester Student Lets that we will make moving as easy as possible. If you don’t know a UK resident who can guarantee your rent, simply contact us and we can work through the various options with you.
Stay another year
Have you loved your home so much, you want to stay with us again next year?
Well we’d love to have you! We give each full house the opportunity to renew during your first semester. Most houses are let as a full house, so if you have someone spending a year abroad or going into their third year, you’ll need to find a replacement for them. A great bonus of staying in the same house for another year, is that you don’t need to pay us any additional cleaning fee! And if you want to stay with us but move into a different house, we’d love to show you what else is available once we know which properties are renewing. Plus anyone who has let a property with us the previous year will receive a discount on their admin fees.
