As if this time of year wasn’t already stressful enough with present buying, decorating and travelling, you also have assignments and deadlines hovering over you.It can be difficult to enjoy the festive period when you know how much work you have to complete on the return to university. Don’t worry though because we have some great tips on how best to deal with your deadlines this term.
Make time for exercise
We know that exercise is probably the last thing on your mind right now, but small amounts of regular exercise are a great way to help you deal with stress. This will not only help to increase your productivity but will actually make you feel stronger both mentally and physically through the release of endorphins.

Schedule your workload
Everyone knows how tempting it can be to put off starting a big task like a university assignment or essay, but the sooner you start the sooner you’ll be finished – always bear that in mind!
The best way to get started on a big task is to outline exactly what needs to be done and then set out a schedule of how long everything will take. Next, use a calendar to plan out your schedule, find out which deadline is your main priority and how you can make the best use of your time. You could even try a time management app to help schedule your deadlines like the MyHomework Student Planner app. Lastly, remember to take regular breaks you keep you refreshed!
Sleep is important!
Creating a healthy sleeping habit is also key when you begin to feel your stress levels rising! Keep your room clean and clutter free, this will put your mind at ease and reflect your mood.
When it comes around to bed time, start to wind down an hour before you plan on actually falling asleep. Keep any screens away – yes, that also includes your phone! Using technology right before bed will keep your mind active. We all know the feeling of having a quick scroll through Instagram before bed, releasing you’ve been on for an hour and panicking about how many hours of sleep you have left!
